Damien Grant has a commerce degree and has been involved in the insolvency industry since 2006. He is a licensed insolvency practitioner and is the principal of Waterstone Insolvency. Grant has extensive experience in litigation, and many of his judgments feature in the list of cases in the index of insolvency textbooks.
Adam has appeared in the District, High Court and Court of Appeal on complex recovery and enforcement matters. His experience, leadership, and technical skills are significant assets to the business. As well as his legal expertise, Adam is also a licensed insolvency practitioner and manages complex insolvency appointments and restructuring assignments.
Peter joined Waterstone in 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and LLB from Victoria University. In his time at Waterstone, Peter took several appointments as a Liquidator, while also providing internal legal guidance. Following a long hiatus in Canada, Peter is back in a consulting capacity and manages Waterstone’s interests in Christchurch.
Bede joined Waterstone Insolvency in 2024 as our Wellington Manager. He is a chartered accountant with a background in small to medium sized enterprises and also has experience as an independent consultant for large organisations. Bede is passionate about building relationships and understanding businesses.
Michael joined Waterstone as one of our Insolvency Officers. He has a BCom in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland. He previously worked at a well-respected Parnell accounting advisory firm. Michael is involved in business sales, restructuring and forensic analysis. His work ethic is an asset to Waterstone.
William joined Waterstone in 2019 and has made substantial progress during his time at the firm. William holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting from Victoria University of Wellington. William enjoys restructuring companies to explore every chance of survival for distressed businesses.
Stan joined Waterstone as one of our analysts. Stan has a background in finance and insurance, with experience in private equity and financial services. He has master’s degree in applied finance from Auckland University of Technology.
Ben is a Graduate Analyst at Waterstone and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland where he was a distinguished graduate. He is a certified associate in project management and has working experience in tax advisory. When not crunching the numbers Ben partakes in triathlons, running and endurance racing.
Kelly joined Waterstone in 2021 and is an admitted Solicitor and Barrister of the High Court of New Zealand. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Commerce Law and LLB from University of Pretoria (South Africa). She has had multiple appearances in the District and High Court, as well as the Court of Appeal. She is passionate about the niche area that is Insolvency Law.
Farah joined Waterstone in March 2024. She was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the High Court of New Zealand in March 2021. Prior to joining Waterstone, Farah was in-house counsel for 4 years, advising a corporate group. Outside of work, Farah enjoys creating music and learning about global languages, fashion, cuisines, and cultures.
Brooke worked in corporate advisory services prior to joining Waterstone. She currently holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Canterbury and is an admitted barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand . Apart from legal matters Brooke enjoys hiking and spending times outdoors with loved ones.
Alisha is an admitted solicitor and barrister of the High Court and graduated with a law and arts degrees from the University of Auckland. She has a special interest in complex company transactions and a background in family law and the prosecution of corruption-related offences. Outside of work, Alisha enjoys dance and music.
Cameron Churchill works as law clerk at Waterstone as while completing his Bachelor of Laws honours at Auckland University of Technology, where he finished top of his class in the law of Insolvency.
Yen joined the Waterstone team in 2018, taking on the role of Finance Manager. Holding memberships with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, as well as being an FCA in Ireland, she contributes an extensive background of over two decades in international finance management. Her rich experience spans across diverse industries, including retail and services, with footprints in Ireland, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.
Rebecca joined Waterstone as our Accountant. With 4 years of external auditing and 5 years of commercial accounting experience, Rebecca is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the accounting functions and supporting the organisation.
Benno is Waterstone’s Marketing Coordinator and has experience working in the print and digital media industry and publishing. Benno holds a degree in languages and an MBA. When not at the office Benno enjoys running and sailing.
Zoe is Waterstone’s receptionist/administrator. Zoe is experienced in handling administrative matters in the legal industry and also enjoys getting involved in marketing and events.
